Danubeparks

Since 2009, protected areas all along the Danube river work together in the network called “DANUBEPARKS” to preserve the major European river, the Danube, as our common natural heritage, in best possible way. Cooperation objectives are to optimize the management of our parks through knowledge transfer, development of common preservation concepts, the strengthening of the international importance of the protected areas by the Danube-wide strategy and the promotion of environmental education and nature-friendly tourism offers.

The DANUBEPARKS network is in the field of nature conservation at a European level, a flagship project of the European Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR).

The JV is with its valuable floodplains between Neuburg and Ingolstadt so far the only German member of the DANUBEPARKS.
